When I started painting Golf Scenes, some negative comments were made like, "How in the world are you going to share your faith in Golf Scenes?" James 1:19 reminds us to,  "be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry." I suppose every job has its critiques. Thankfully, I didn't take the remarks personal. Instead, I took them to God, asking if there was something He wanted me know. Did He care what I painted as long as it was moral and honorable? I asked God to search my heart and reveal His Will. Within 3 days a college student, unaware of my desire, revealed Gods answer. He said, “I can see that your heart is in doing pieces like this (pointing at "My Little Sleeping Beauty") and I see you have to do pieces like this (pointing at a Golf Scene) but  that’s OK  -  because even Jesus was a Carpenter.”  What a revelation! God used this young man to speak to me in answer to my prayer. Looking back on those comments is kind of humorous now, to think there were some who thought this might not be a good thing for my Art-Ministry. But it could have been a test. It just goes to prove that it pays to take EVERYTHING to GOD in PRAYER! (Philippians 4: 6-7) Let me know if you have a favorite spot you'd like to have painted.
